报告人简介

Dr. Ishaq Ahmad currently hold the positions of Director General and Chief Scientist of CoE Physics, National Center for Physics, Islamabad, Pakistan and Co-Director of NPU-NCP Joint International Research Center on Advanced Nanomaterials and Defects Engineering Northwestern Polytechnical University Xian China. He is a Chief Scientific Investigator of International Atomic energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria under CRP-G42008. He obtained his PhD in Nuclear techniques and applications, especially in ion beam accelerator applications in materials science from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Graduate University of CAS (Chinese Academy of Science), Beijing, China. He has co-authored over more than 240 research papers in international reputed journals and contributed in 8 books and 19 book chapters in reputed publishers. He supervised several Master, PhD and Postdoctoral local and abroad students. His research interests are focused on ion beam applications in materials/nanomaterials, synthesis of nanomaterials/thin films and ion beam analysis of materials. He is a senior fellow of UNESCO UNISA AFRICA Chair in Nanosciences/Nanotechnology, iThemba LABS (Laboratory for Accelerator based Sciences), South Africa. He initiated many bilateral/trilateral science and technology cooperation around the world especially with Chinese, Russian and Malaysian universities in the form of MoUs and Joint research centers. He has many awards and honors on his credit.

Ishaq Ahmad教授目前担任巴基斯坦伊斯兰堡国家物理中心CoE物理总干事兼首席科学家,同时担任西北工业大学先进纳米材料与缺陷工程国际联合研究中心的联合主任。此外,他还在奥地利维也纳国际原子能机构(IAEA)担任首席科学研究员,负责项目编号为CRP-G42008。Ahmad教授在中国科学院研究生院上海应用物理研究所获得了原子核技术与应用博士学位,专注于离子束加速器在材料科学中的应用。他已在国际知名期刊上发表了240多篇研究论文,并出版了8本书和19本书章节。作为联合国教科文组织UNISA非洲高级研究员以及南非iThemba LABS纳米科学/纳米技术主席,Ahmad教授指导了许多国内外硕士生、博士生和博士后。他的主要研究方向包括离子束在材料/纳米材料中的应用、纳米材料/薄膜的合成以及材料的离子束分析。此外,Ahmad教授还发起了众多双边和三边科技合作项目,尤其是与中国、俄罗斯和马来西亚的大学通过谅解备忘录和建立联合研究中心形式进行合作,获得了许多奖项和荣誉。

报告摘要

Energy-efficient temperature regulation within buildings is crucial for reducing energy consumption and enhancing occupant comfort. This talk presents an innovative approach to achieving energy-efficient indoor temperature control by integrating phase change materials (PCMs) with transparent window coatings. Phase change materials have the unique ability to absorb and release latent heat during phase transitions, providing a passive mechanism for temperature regulation. By incorporating PCMs into building envelopes, the system can store excess heat during peak solar radiation and release it during cooler periods, thus stabilizing indoor temperatures and reducing the demand for active heating and cooling. Additionally, advanced transparent window coatings are employed to modulate solar heat gain by dynamically adjusting their optical properties in response to external temperature and sunlight intensity. This combination of PCMs and smart window coatings forms a synergistic system that optimizes thermal performance without compromising natural light or visibility, leading to substantial energy savings. This integrated approach can significantly reduce heating and cooling loads, contributing to lower energy consumption and improved indoor comfort. This research underscores the potential of smart materials and intelligent control strategies in advancing energy-efficient and sustainable building technologies.
